Kemenperin Pastikan Pasokan Bahan Baku Tekstil

BANDUNG – Peningkatan daya saing industri tekstil dan produk tekstil (TPT) nasional terus dipacu Kementerian Perindustrian (Kemenperin). Di antaranya dengan mengurangi ketergantungan terhadap bahan baku tekstil impor. Untuk itu, langkah yang dilakukan antara lain dengan mendorong pengembangan bahan baku tekstil yang berbasis serat sintetis.

“Bahan baku tekstil berbasis serat sintetis punya banyak keunggulan. Di antaranya, memiliki durabilitas tinggi serta bisa direkayasa dengan menanamkan sifat dan fungsi khusus yang menunjang performa produk tekstil. Sifat ini bisa dikatakan abadi, karena ditanamkan langsung pada bahan baku serat sintetis tersebut,” kata Plt. Kepala Balai Besar Tekstil (BBT) Kemenperin Wibowo Dwi Hartoto di Bandung, Jawa Barat, Jumat (19/3).

Wibowo melanjutkan, sebagai upaya mendampingi para pelaku indsutri TPT dalam mengembangkan material tekstil berbasis serat sintetis, BBT Kemenperin menyediakan fasilitas berupa testbed ekonomis. Fasilitas ini diharapkan mampu mengembangkan produk-produk tekstil fungsional. Nantinya, para pelaku industri TPT di tanah air bisa memanfaatkan fasilitas tersebut.

“Fasilitas testbed pengembangan tekstil fungsional dilengkapi melt spinning skala laboratorium dengan teknologi terbaru. Fasilitas tersebut memiliki kemampuan untuk mengolah berbagai jenis polimer menjadi benang filamen,” paparnya.

Adapun Polimer yang dimaksud, seperti standard polymers, engineering polymers, high temperature polymers, corrosive, and aggressive polymers, dan bio sustainable and biomedical polymers.

Dengan fasilitas testbed ini, memungkinkan industri melakukan pengembangan produk secara ekonomis. Mereka hanya membutuhkan sedikit bahan baku, mulai dari 0,5kg hingga 2 kg untuk bereksperimen yang akan menghasilkan formula berbagai varian benang filamen. Baik untuk kebutuhan sandang atau functional apparel maupun technical textile.

Selain itu, pengembangan produk functional apparel didukung melalui kemampuan colour matching dan penyematan fungsi khusus pada serat seperti anti bakteri, anti api, atau pembuatan benang yang menunjang faktor kenyamanan seperti pengatur suhu (thermo-regulator), quick dry, anti kusut, dan lainnya.

Data Asosiasi Produsen Serat dan Benang Filamen Indonesia (Apsyfi) mencatat, ada delapan perusahaan polimerisasi chip poliester, 12 perusahaan produsen benang filamen jenis poliester, empat perusahaan produsen benang filamen jenis nylon, dan empat perusahaan produsen benang viscose.

“Salah satu kendala yang dialami sektor ini adalah belum optimalnya kegiatan pengembangan produk karena faktor sumber daya manusia (SDM) dan fasilitas laboratorium research and development yang belum memadai,” katanya.

Wibowo menambahkan, dalam pengembangan fasilitas testbed untuk tekstil fungsional, BBT Kemenperin menggandeng berbagai pihak. Antara lain, asosiasi, akademisi, pelaku industri, perusahaan teknologi, pemerintah dan startup.(***)
