Wow! Masjid Istiqlal Jadi Tempat Ibadah Pertama di Dunia yang Peroleh Sertifikat Green Building EDGE
JAKARTA – Kementerian Pekerjaan Umum dan Perumahan Rakyat (PUPR) selesai merenovasi Masjid Istiqlal Jakarta. Berkat perbaikan tersebut, masjid kebanggaan warga Jakarta tersebut mendapatkan sertifikat final sistem Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies (EDGE) dari International Finance Corporation (IFC).
Masjid Istiqlal menjadi tempat ibadah pertama di dunia yang mendapatkan sertifikat pengakuan atas penerapan prinsip-prinsip bangunan hijau (green building) dalam rangka penghematan energi dan keberlanjutan lingkungan.
Direktur Jenderal Cipta Karya Kementerian PUPR Diana Kusumastuti mengatakan, pelaksanaan renovasi Masjid Istiqlal seluas 109.547 m2 menerapkan prinsip bangunan gedung hijau.
Hal tersebut sesuai amanat Peraturan Menteri PUPR Nomor 2 Tahun 2015 tentang Bangunan Gedung Hijau yang diperbarui melalui Peraturan Menteri PUPR Nomor 21 Tahun 2021 tentang Penilaian Kinerja Bangunan Gedung Hijau. Peraturan Menteri tersebut menyatakan, bangunan peribadatan dengan luas di atas 10.000 m2 termasuk dalam kategori wajib untuk menerapkan prinsip-prinsip bangunan gedung hijau.
“Pelaksanaan renovasi ini dilakukan dengan menerapkan fitur penghematan dengan meningkatkan fungsi desain pasif hemat energi yang telah didesain sejak Masjid Istiqlal berdiri melalui pemugaran eksterior dan interior bangunan, penggunaan sistem penghawaan (Air Conditioner) yang sangat hemat energi, penggunaan lampu hemat energi berbasis LED, penerapan smart building, serta pemasangan solar panel yang memberikan kontribusi 13% dari konsumsi listrik bangunan,” kata Diana saat seremonial serah terima sertifikat EDGE Masjid Istiqlal di Jakarta, Rabu (06/04/2022).
Diana menambahkan, dalam kegiatan renovasi tersebut juga dilakukan upaya penghematan air dengan penggantian keran wudhu yang lebih hemat air, penggunaan WC dengan dual flush, keran washtafel, dan urinal yang hemat air.
“Untuk penghematan material dilakukan dengan mempertahankan material sebagai bangunan cagar budaya pada fungsi struktur, interior, dan eksterior bangunan dengan mengaplikasikan teknologi terkini pada bangunan. Secara umum, Masjid Istiqlal ini bisa menghemat sebesar 476,22 ton karbondioksida per tahun,” papar Diana.
Ia berharap, pencapaian efisiensi energi, air, dan material tersebut bisa memudahkan pengelolaan dan pemeliharaan Masjid Istiqlal ke depan.
“Penerapan prinsip ramah lingkungan pada Masjid Istiqlal ini bisa menjadi best practice bagi bangunan gedung lain di Indonesia dan menginspirasi para pelaku di dunia konstruksi,” imbuh Diana.
Country Manager IFC untuk Indonesia dan Timor-Leste Azam Khan mengatakan, proyek di Masjid Istiqlal ini merupakan contoh yang bisa dicapai, bila semua bekerja sama dalam upaya melawan krisis iklim. Seperti diketahui, krisis iklim menjadi salah satu tantangan terbesar saat ini.
“Perubahan iklim mengancam kehidupan dan mata pencaharian serta memperlambat kemajuan dari upaya pengentasan kemiskinan terutama di tengah meningkatnya intensitas bencana terkait iklim yang terjadi, termasuk di Indonesia,” tegas Azam.
Prof KH Nasaruddin Umar, Imam Besar Masjid Istiqlal berterima kasih pada Menteri PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono yang sigap menindaklanjuti perintah Presiden Joko Widodo untuk merenovasi Masjid Istiqlal.
“Kami terharu Masjid Istiqlal mendapatkan apresiasi tingkat internasional sebagai masjid pertama yang mendapatkan sertifikasi green building,” ungkap KH Nasruddin.
Tahun 2019-2020, Kementerian PUPR merenovasi Masjid Istiqlal dengan masa waktu pelaksanaan 424 hari yang dimulai pada 16 Mei 2019 dan diselesaikan pada tanggal 13 Juli 2020 dengan total biaya sebesar Rp 511,3 miliar. Renovasi tersebut melibatkan PT. Waskita Karya selaku kontraktor pelaksana dan PT. Virama Karya sebagai konsultan manajemen konstruksi.(****)
