Dua Prodi UK Petra Surabaya Terima Hibah dari Dirjen Belmawa

SURABAYA – Prestasi Kembali ditorehkan Universitas Kristen (UK) Petra Surabaya. Dua program studi kampus tersebut mendapatkan Program Bantuan Studi Menjadi Model Center of Excellence (CoE) Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) dari Direktorat Jenderal Pembelajaran dan Kemahasiswaan (Belmawa) Republik Indonesia. Dua prodi yang mendapatkan hibah tersebut adalah Program Studi (Prodi) Teknik Elektro dan Informatika.

Rektor UK Petra Surabaya, Prof. Dr. Djwantoro Hardjito menjelaskan, dari 390 proposal yang dikirimkan ke Direktorat Belmawa, 80 proposal yang berhasil lulus seleksi ketat dan memperoleh dana hibah ini.

“Menegaskan komitmen UK Petra untuk terus berbenah, siap berubah sesuai perkembangan zaman dan siap mendukung program yang dijalankan oleh Pemerintah Indonesia,” kata Djwantoro, Jumat (16/4/2021).

“Program bantuan ini bertujuan meningkatkan mutu pendidikan tinggi dan kualitas lulusan pendidikan tinggi agar relevan dengan kebutuhan dunia kerja di masa depan,” imbuhnya.

Menurut Djwantoro, program MBKM ini sejalan dengan kurikulum baru di UK Petra, yang disebut sebagai LEAP (Leadership Enhancement Program). Dijelaskannya, mahasiswa memiliki kesempatan dalam satu semesternya setara dengan 20 SKS menempuh pembelajaran di luar program studi pada perguruan tinggi yang sama. Serta paling lama dua semester atau setara dengan 40 SKS menempuh pembelajaran pada program studi yang sama di Perguruan Tinggi yang berbeda.

“Artinya kampus diminta memperbanyak kerja sama dengan berbagai mitra di luar kampus, baik dengan perguruan tinggi lain, dunia industri maupun berbagai institusi di masyarakat,” imbuh  Djwantoro.

Koordinator Penerima Program Bantuan CoE MBKM dari prodi Informatika UK Petra Surabaya, Liliana mengaku Bahagia menerima kepercayaan dari Direktorat Belmawa.

“Kami berterima kasih untuk kesempatan ini. Capaian ini memacu prodi mempersiapkan mekanisme LEAP yang tepat dan bermanfaat bagi mahasiswa di luar prodi,” kata Liliana.

Liliana merinci untuk menjadi lulusan dengan kompentensi yang diharapkan, mahasiswa tidak hanya belajar dari keilmuan prodi saja, tetapi juga bisa dari magang di industri dengan pengimplementasian keilmuan pada masalah riil di perusahaan; melakukan riset mandiri dengan target HAKI, publikasi ilmiah atau teknologi tepat guna; menerapkan keilmuan bagi program pengabdian pada masyarakat ataupun belajar dari prodi lain yang keilmuannya mendukung.

Ketua Program Studi Teknik Elektro UK Petra, Petrus Santoso menambahkan, mulai tahun 2021 ini, Prodi Teknik Elektro UK Petra membuka program baru, Internet of Things, untuk para generasi muda menyiapkan masa depannya. Skema hibah berlaku mulai awal April 2021 dan berakhir pada November 2021. Total yang diterima UK Petra melalui dua program studi Teknik Elekto dan Informatika sebesar Rp. 159.160.000.

“Sebelum program studi menjalankan programnya, terlebih dahulu diadakan bimbingan teknis (bimtek) Program Bantuan Program Studi Menjadi Model Center Of Excellence (CoE) MBKM ini dari Direktorat Belmawa,” katanya.(***)
