Raih Best Award Bisra 2021, RLU Lanjutkan Program Pemberdayaan Orang Rimba
JAKARTA – PT Royal Lestari Utama (RLU), perusahaan karet alam berkelanjutan, melalui anak usahanya PT Lestari Asri Jaya (LAJ) meluncurkan program pemberdayaan orang rimba.
Program tersebut untuk meningkatkan kapabilitas dan skill masyarakat Suku Anak Dalam (SAD) di Provinsi Jambi. Kegiatan tersebut bekerja sama dengan Pemerintah Daerah Kabupaten Tebo, Pemprov Jambi, dan Balai Taman Nasional (TN) Bukit Tigapuluh. Program yang sudah dirintis sejak 2018 ini menjangkau tiga kelompok Orang Rimba yang tersebar di Desa Semambu dan Desa Pemayungan, Kecamatan Sumay, Kabupaten Tebo, Provinsi – Jambi.
“Kegiatan pemberdayaan orang rimba sejatinya berjalan sejak 2018. Perusahaan membangun rencana kerja pengembangan dan pelibatan Orang Rimba. Hari ini, kami meluncurkan rangkaian kegiatan tersebut sebagai program terintegrasi, yang lahir dari aspirasi warga orang rimba sendiri dan sekaligus diharapkan memberikan dampak positif bagi warga orang rimba,” kata Direktur Corporate Affairs dan Sustainability PT Royal Lestari Utama (RLU) Yasmine Sagita, Jumat (23/04/2021).
Berbarengan dengan peresmian tersebut, juga diresmikan operasional Balai Pusat Pelayanan Orang Rimba (OR). Balai Pusat Pelayanan OR yang berlokasi di area Kelompok Temenggung Hasan ini dibangun atas inisiatif OR sendiri. Nantinya, balai serupa juga akan dibangun di area kelompok orang rimba lainnya. Yakni, Kelompok Temenggung Buyung dan Bujang Kabut.
Dengan beroperasinya balai tersebut, Orang Rimba mendapatkan berbagai manfaat pelayanan terhadap hak-hak dasar secara lebih mudah dan terorganisir. Keberadaan Balai Pusat Pelayanan membuat kegiatan pendidikan anak-anak Orang Rimba menjadi lebih intensif dibandingkan sebelumnya. Balai Pusat Pelayanan juga menjadi tempat transit dan beristirahat bagi Orang Rimba saat sedang keluar dari hutan. Seperti berbelanja atau keperluan lainnya.
RLU juga membangun Pusat Pembibitan Tanaman Kehidupan Orang Rimba yang merupakan salah satu bagian dari program penghidupan bagi Orang Rimba. Bibit yang ada dikembangkan merupakan tanaman yang dimanfaatkan Orang Rimba baik untuk kebutuhan konsumsi sendiri maupun untuk dijual.
Pusat pembibitan yang berada di area konsesi HTI RLU di Jambi ini sekaligus menjadi sarana memenuhi kebutuhan pengembangan agroforestry Orang Rimba. Pusat pembibitan tersebut seluas lebih dari 2 ribu meter persegi. Saat ini, tersedia 4 ribu bibit tanaman dengan kemampuan tampung sekitar 6.500 bibit. Tanaman yang dipilih adalah tanaman yang dimanfaatkan Orang Rimba. Di antaranya, Jernang, Kelukup, Jengkol, Petai, Durian, Tampui, Semangkuk, Cempedak, Kayu Resak, Bedaro, dan Pinang.
“Tujuan jangka panjang dari program pemberdayaan ini terciptanya kemandirian dan kesejahteraan Orang Rimba. Kami optimistis melalui kerja sama dengan seluruh pemangku kepentingan upaya pelestarian kawasan hutan dapat berjalan seiring dengan peningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat yang ada sekitarnya,” papar Yasmine.
Berkat berbagai program sosial dan lingkungan yang berdampak signifikan, pada 22 April 2021, RLU mendapatkan penghargaan Platinum dan Best Award Community Development Program dari Bisnis Indonesia CSR Award (BISRA) 2021 bekerja sama dengan Habitat for Humanity Indonesia.
Mewakili perusahaan, GM Public Affairs RLU Arifadi Budiarjo mengatakan, selain program bagi Orang Rimba, RLU menjalin kerja sama dengan 600 lebih petani di sekitar area perusahaan, melalui program training, kemitraan kehutanan, agroforestry, dan pertanian terpadu.
Juri BISRA 2021 Susanto Samsudin menerangkan, platinum merupakan apresiasi tetinggi bagi sebuah perusahaan yang diharapkan program CSR yang djalankan bisa menjadi inspirasi bagi perusahaan-perusahaan lainnya. Menurut Susanto, program CSR akan berjalan baik jika ada komitmen dari manajemen perusahaan, adanya organisasi CSR dalam perusahaan termasuk program, anggaran, dampak kepada masyarakat, dan keberlanjutan dari program tersebut.
Deputi Ekonomi Kementerian PPN/Bapenas Amalia A. Widyasanti mengatakan, praktek bisnis berkelanjutan menjadi tren baru dalam perusahaan tingkat global. Dari survey KPMG 40 persen dalam kelompok 250 perusahaan terbesar global telah mengadopsi prinsip-prinsip sustainable business. Menurut survey WBCSD, ada 41 persen perusahaan di 43 negara sudah mengintegrasikan SDGs dalam strategi perusahaan.
“CSR merupakan sarana penting bagi pelaku bisnis untuk melakukan kemitraan dalam rangka menjalankan amanat SDGs,” kata Amalia. (***)
