Dukung Pelestarian Ekosistem Laut, IPCM Lakukan Penanaman Terumbu Karang

JAKARTA – PT Jasa Armada Indonesia Tbk (IPCM) berkolaborasi dengan Kantor Kesyahbandaran dan Otoritas Pelabuhan (KSOP) Kelas IV Kepulauan Seribu dan Distrik Navigasi Kelas I Tanjung Priok melakukan penanaman terumbu karang di perairan wilayah Pulau Damar Besar, Kepulauan Seribu, beberapa waktu lalu (5/10/2022).

Lokasi yang dipilih masih bagian dari lingkungan kerja perusahaan. Kegiatan tersebut wujud kepedulian dan dukungan IPCM terhadap pelestarian ekosistem terumbu karang. Sebanyak 400 bibit terumbu karang ditanam. Ada 10 jenis terumbu karang, yakni, Acropora Mellepora, Acropora Pormosa, Acropora Cerealis, Acropora Nobilis, Hyascintus, Styllora SP, Pocillopora CP, Cereatopora, Acropora Tenuis, dan Acropora Diparicata.

Penanaman terumbu karang secara simbolis dilakukan Direksi IPCM beserta tim, Tim KSOP Kelas IV Kepulauan Seribu, Tim Distrik Navigasi Kelas I Tanjung Priok, serta melibatkan Lions Club Jakarta Madhava, wadah anak-anak muda yang memiliki kepedulian terhadap lingkungan.

Direktur Armada dan Operasi IPCM, M. Iqbal menyampaikan, penanaman terumbu karang tersebut diharapkan menambah kelestarian lingkungan biota perairan sehingga ekosistemnya tetap terjaga.

“Kegiatan ini adalah salah satu wujud tanggung jawab sosial dan komitmen kami dalam memberikan dampak positif terhadap lingkungan sekitar,” ungkap Iqbal.

Pada kesempatan tersebut, dilakukan pemberian edukasi serta simulasi penanaman bibit terumbu karang yang dipandu Perkumpulan Pondok Karang sebagai lembaga resmi konservasi terumbu karang. Bibit terumbu karang disiapkan melalui pencangkokan atau pemotongan karang hidup sesuai prosedur. Kemudian ditanamkan di media semen, garam, dan paralon. Setelah itu, bibit terumbu karang yang telah ditanamkan di media tersebut dibawa ke dasar laut agar bisa tumbuh dengan baik dan mampu meningkatkan kualitas ekosistem laut di Kepulauan Seribu. Penanaman terumbu karang di dasar laut ini juga langsung dimonitor oleh dua penyelam IPCM.

Upaya restorasi ekosistem laut dan pesisir yang digelar IPCM dengan melibatkan para stakeholder tersebut diharapkan menjadi awal yang baik. Ke depannya, diharapkan juga memberikan dampak positif yang semakin luas.(****)
